Where to Live in Auckland

Auckland can be divided into five Areas which roughly correspond to the points of the compass (North, West etc). We have grouped suburbs into these Areas to make it easier for you to get familiar with them

Suburb Areas & Price

Where you live will depend on your own preferences, as well as your budget, whether renting or buying. The maps in the guide show the relative affluence of suburbs and of the streetblocks within each suburb. In general the better the area the higher the asking price! Of course if you can find a good deal in a good area, so much the better!

Schools & Transport

If you have children, you need to find out where the nearest schools are, whether state or private, religious or non-denominational. You also need to know the transport routes to work, freeways, rail etc.
