So where is Perth in relation to the rest of Australia? - a long way away is the short answer! Perth may be the most isolated city on earth.

The city spreads out along the Swan and Canning rivers and along the coast which makes for a lot of coastline and water views!! Perth City Centre (also called the Central Business District or CBD) is located on the north bank of the Swan River, about 5 kilometres inland from the sea.

Perth’s urban population was around 1.3 million in 2006, up from around one million in 2001. So it's growing! The Perth region has just under 1.5m people.

Apartment blocks are mainly found around the CBD and to the north & west of the CBD . A lot of houses have been built over the last 10 years as Perth has boomed from a sleepy town in the middle of nowhere to a vibrant city that people want to move to, from overseas and from other parts of Australia !
